About Me

My name is Ashleigh Thies and I am so excited to be back at Kramer teaching my 5th graders and coaching Math Team and Girls' Running Club!

This will be my 7th year teaching - 2 years in Houston and 2 years in Round Rock, and now my 3rd here at Kramer. I have taught IB for 6 out of those 7 years teaching in grades 1, 2 and 5. I am so excited to be self-contained again this year and continue with Girl's Running Club and Math Team!

I am a Dallas native, graduating from Bishop Lynch High School before going to Austin College in Sherman for both my degrees. While at AC, I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology & Religious Studies and my Masters in Teaching while completing the Austin Teacher Program.

My husband and I met in college and were married in March 2016 at the Filter Building on White Rock Lake. He graduated from UT Law (Hook 'Em) and worked as an attorney in Houston before we were ready to move back home to the Big D! We have a rescue mutt named Charlie who we love to take on long walks. I love being active - hiking, biking, yoga, and rock climbing - and of course watching movies and indulging in some good eats.
